About the Society

The East West Link Development Society Incorporated is a society of businesses and residents who want to see the East West Link built, and built well.

Why we exist

The industrial corridor between Onehunga, Te Papapa and Penrose carries a large share of Auckland’s freight, yet the East West Link has been advanced, cancelled and redesigned across successive governments without a spade in the ground. Our members bear the cost of that delay every day.

What we advocate

We support an integrated, multi-modal corridor rather than a road alone: efficient freight connections, genuine ecological restoration of the Manukau Harbour, better public transport, and urban renewal for the communities along the route. A project designed this way can win support across the political spectrum and survive changes of government.

From plan to delivery

With sound governance and careful planning that honestly recognises the trade-offs our community faces, the East West Link can move from decades of debate to delivery.
